Career Development

We offer four Career workshops to learn how to navigate the USA labor market:

Career Decision-Making: Learn how to create your personal career path. Understand the value of self-assessment and exploration of work to make career decisions.

Job Search Strategies: Learn how employers look for candidates to plan your strategies. Identify the basic tools and skills needed to be successful in your job search campaign.

Resumes/CVs: Learn what to write, how to present it, and how to target your written job search tools for your specific goal. Sample resumes will be shared.

Interviewing: Learn how to prepare for interviews, different styles, typical questions and responses, what questions to ask in, and how candidates are evaluated.

Individual coaching is available with an experienced career counselor/coach.  Any topics related to your career development are appropriate, including:  defining career direction, understanding the job market, planning a job search, review of your resume/CV or cover letter, and preparation for an interview.  The first two sessions will be partially subsidized by the IDB Family Association.

It is a support group for members who are interested in job search. We share all kinds of useful information related to job searching, such as job postings, seminars. You can interact with the other participants there. It is a diverse group, where you can find members with different professional profiles and backgrounds.It is a great way to create and practice networking. We meet every two weeks. We know  that we live in times where our creativity and financial independence are also key points for professional success. For this reason, we offer a range of workshops dedicated to strengthen and create that business or project that you have in mind. If that business already exists then it will help you continue to grow simply to give it continuity. Always with a panel of professionals willing to evolve that personal project..

Throughout the year we offer different workshops of professional interest that will keep you informed and updated, whether in the search for employment or to develop any personal project, such as  Linkedin workshops, personal branding, CANVAS Business model, etc

We offer four workshops that provide practical guidance on clear and accurate professional writing in English.  These workshops are: (1) building a strong resume, (2) drafting an impactful cover letter, (3) writing effective professional emails, and (4) creating a writing sample.  In addition, we offer personalized writing and editing advice for members who are seeking jobs and need help preparing resumes or CVs, professional letters and emails, and writing samples.
